Celebrating Progress: ISO 23875 and the Commitment to Operator Health

One of the great privileges of attending the AIH Connect conference is spending time with extraordinary individuals. In his role as head of health for Rio Tinto, Guillaume Lachepelle has been a strong advocate for the implementation of ISO 23875. Additionally, he serves as a member of TC-82 Mining Work Group 9, which focuses on operator enclosure air quality.

Reflecting on the past year, we have achieved significant milestones that advance the mission of ISEEE through its dedicated membership. Australia and New Zealand have both adopted ISO 23875:2021 with Amendment 1 as their national standard. The influence of ISEEE on the new silica rule reduction is also evident. Our members around the world continue to shape decisions that prioritize the lung health of operators.

We continue to bring a message of hope to mining machine operators, who rely on our efforts to improve their work environments. Conversations with Guillaume remind me of the debt of gratitude we owe to each ISEEE member and operator air quality advocate who has contributed to the tremendous progress we’ve seen over the past year.

I encourage each of our members to share a post about the successes we have witnessed this past year. Your stories are vital in highlighting the impact of our collective efforts.
